Just finished the Shamy Break-up arc and they are happily back together and I couldn't be happier I'm a Shamy gal 100%

But just for shigs and gigglts - what's a crazy weird storyline that you could almost see happening?

Mine is Barry Kripke actually taking Amy out (obviously with intent to smash) only to find out she is actually lovely and wonderful and then falling for her. Too nervous bc he's only really ever thought of women for sex - he's too shy to even kiss Amy.

She is shocked by this (obviously) as he's been pretty sexually forthcoming. It intrigues her, they continue going out, their physical contact remaining sweet and pure and genuine until finally she's like um wtf Barry I did not sign up for another sweet virgin and then they sleep together (and by this point they are in love) and it's actually sweet and happy and she has a thriving, thrilling sex life and becomes the "experienced" one.

Meanwhile, the one blonde lady who solved Sheldon's puzzles showed up on time and her and Sheldon have a weird companionship that works. Over time he and Amy heal and become good friends and they are all one big group with Sheldon and Amy not being a couple ever again.

Occasionally there might be a look or glance that has the audience wondering what could've been.

Of course in this version of the show, they wouldn't win their Nobel so it ends just a group of friends happy to be where they are win their life. Sheldon moves in with the one girl bc idk let's say she lives in a repurposed abandoned train station and everyone lives oddly happily ever after.

Hmm, now that I think about it ... Maybe don't let me make a TV show, I might HIMYM it all up. 😂

Anyway tell me your crazy changes that (might) ruin the show.

Public school is in chaos mode right now - they are doing everything in their power to prevent students from leaving and just doing online school. This is why so many things that were no-go's about 10-15yrs ago are now just barely enforced or not at all.

I sub at the HS I graduated (Class of 2015) from for some friends (preferred school hard to get in unless you know someone) and the thing my school used to be known for was having a really strict dress code (I think some students tried to sue one yr no joke) and a super strict phone policy (3x or more) caught with your phone out in class or in the halls and you were put on behavior contract and had to have a parent sign your phone in and out every day for three days or have a parent sign a paper that you were not brining your phone. If you broke that contract you would graduate to in-school suspension and if you broke it from there you'd get suspended and I even heard that after that cycle repeated a few times you could be expelled.

When I graduated - I was actually on thin ice for so many dress code violations over the years I was like 4 away from suspension and maybe like 6 away from expulsion.(shorts had to be a certain length, no shoulders or tummys for boys or girls, no visible nipples for both genders, no vulgar says or even hinting at vulgar - I got dress coded once for wearing a Rick & Morty shirt that didn't even say anything, I also got dress coded multiple times for wearing cold shoulder style blouses) and they had spare clothes you had to borrow, wash and return or they would be charged to you like an unreturned library book. And it was like $20 for each shirt, and $40 for each pair of sweats. And once they closed the semester you couldn't return them unless you got lucky and were friends with the librarian who handled the fees (score)

See and that's the thing bc pretty much any repeated behavior issue could lead to expulsion and that was a big deal back in the day. To be expelled was embarrassing and could delay you graduating bc there is only one alternative HS in my city (there's two but you have to be a teen parent to get into one) so you'd have to wait to get in until the semester and then be behind.

Now it's like they don't ever threaten expulsion bc they know that's what kids wants. They don't punish any behaviors that's aren't actually criminal. Like the school only punishes through the police substation. So most offenses go unpunished.

Back in my day you got caught with a vape, joint or alcohol - it was immediate expulsion & police intervention, no exceptions. I've watched kids vape walking down the hallway while admin watches and just shakes their head bc there is literally nothing they can do. In school suspension doesn't even exist anymore. It's a class room for their media literacy class.

The only students who actually can get punished are the ones involved with extracurriculars bc they will be prevented from participating but usually the kids who actually care about their extras don't get in that much trouble in the first place.

It's honestly a fright to witness - like how are these children who have never faced any type of discipline going to handle the real world? Idk I think in a few years we'll be ordering our daily coffee and get a vape cloud blown in our faces like it's normal and if you say anything you'll be the bad guy.

I just want to close this by saying, my graduating class was the biggest in any public school, in my city, ever. Or at least as long as they kept those records. And this school continues to output the highest number of graduates YOY - I've only subbed one other high school and it was so so much worse. I actually feared for my safety when I had to ask a "boy" bigger than me to please stop shouting obscenities out of the window to which he stood up. Walked right up to me and towered over me asking what I was going to do about it. He was easily a foot taller than me. There are so many horror stories, and I've never even taken an assignment in the worst schools in my city.

All that to say, some of the students actually are wonderful so let's just hope they have enough sense to stay that way.

ETA: this year alone, when I started there was a strict no food/drinks in the library policy. That was changed by January bc some people were complaining!!! It's a library.
