Fixing the trackpad/touchpad after a failed firmware update on the Legion Go S Windows, Trackpad stopped working

As mentioned in the title, I tried to update my trackpad’s firmware in preparation for installing Steam OS. I followed the steps in a YouTube video and got to the part where I had to run the UPDATE file and check the exact location of my trackpad’s firmware folder, because, for those who don’t know, there are two types of trackpads with different firmware, and if you run the one that isn’t exactly for your trackpad, it simply stops working, which is frustrating.

I eventually figured out a way to fix it. Opening the main firmware folder (assuming that if you had this problem, you probably downloaded the Chinese Lenovo zip folder and ran the wrong firmware), there are three folders: SPIO, BetterLife, and MCU FW. You just need to open the MCU FW folder, run the HDI_IAP.exe file, and execute the commands numbered 1 through 4: Find Device, GOTO IAP, Choose File, select the only file that should appear (0_0_3_0.bin), and finally click Download. After all that, the trackpad should start working again—at least mine did. To be completely honest, I was desperate and tried everything, until I found this file and kept trying to see if anything would work. At least this was the step-by-step process I remember doing that actually worked. I hope it helps anyone else going through this too. If it doesn’t work, keep testing everything inside that HDI_IAP.exe file; eventually, it should work.
