Allouette mountain and Evans peak

I started hiking around late march, so I am still a beginner. On Saturday I did Allouette mountain and Evans peak in about 8 hours and a half. I told this already to a friend who has been hiking since he could walk, and he told me it was pretty slow. If this is true, pls recommend tips for moving more efficiently or conserving energy better.
So far for other hikes I have done tunnel bluffs, south mount nutt, south needle, mount fromme, saint marks, dog mountain, pump peak, and mount Harvey. I think I’m making good progress but apparently my time needs work.
