What did you do after your diagnosis?

Hi all,

My specialists have found endometriosis, and I don't know what to do or how to figure this out. I feel like no matter what solution I do there is significant consequences.

I know I should do investigative surgery to see where the hell it is, but the solutions I was given feels like nothing. I go into surgery, take out the endo, then get given an IUD to stop my period. Or, I leave it. Apparently, being on the IUD can mess up fertility or something. I don't know that's what my family has told me. What did you do in your own experience I guess is what I am asking.

Centrelink makes no sense

Hi there,

I made an application for DSP back in December. I am an independent 19 year old on Youth Allowance as I study full time. I did not realise however, that even at 19 and living independent that I would end up not being paid the same amount as someone who is 21 years old. I am being paid the maximum rate of youth allowance, youth disability supplement, and rent assistance, which ends up being $930.

My DSP is going to be just going to barely, AND I MEAN BARELY BE THE SAME, as my current payment. Before anyone says "get a real job" I CANT, I LEGITIMATELY CANNOT. I have to see a neurologist, rheumatologisy, cardiologist, and a gynecologist. For the love of everything that is holy how the hell is anyone expected to afford any of this. I have to see these specialists to figure out why my heart is declining as fast as it is and NDIS is a joke right now.

I called Centrelink to just ask why it hasn't been past the complex assessment team and all they could tell me was is that I've made the payment and that I got an officer in March but they still haven't taken a look at it. I have no clue what to do. I was gonna use the back pay to pay for all these appointments, BUT AT THIS POINT IT FEELS LIKE IMMA END UP PAYING THEM THE DIFFERENCE. The Centrelink worker was like I should've just applied next year at around my birthday because I would've been paid more anyways.

How TF is the government allowed to do this shit, genuinely. Why are 18-20 year Olds who are independent, don't have family to back up on, and cannot work, expected to deal with this.
