I got a new cat yesterday and she has disappeared.
I got a 10 year old, 8 pound cat that I knew was extremely meek/terrified. In my bedroom I had her water, litter box, and food. I closed my door and opened her crate and as expected she darted under the bed to hide (I made sure there was room under the bed for her to hide). She did use the litter box last night. This morning I only opened my door to leave my room and when I got back from work I was glad to see I didn't forget to close my door.
I looked under the bed and she is gone. I don't understand where she could have gone. My closest I forgot to close that door) is filled with random crap but I have looked under the dresser and other furniture, under the bed, I tried to look in the closest and I didn't see her and she didn't make a sound. I have left food and water for her underneath a table outside my room in case she got out when I left my room this morning, but I'm nervous and confused where she went. I only really have experience owning one cat previously that wasn't scared of anyone.
Edit 1: I will try to keep this updated if I notice anything. The comments have reassured me a bit. I did check the box springs, lifted the mattress and box springs, I didn't notice any holes and patted it around a few spots. I can check it again later.
Edit 2: I thoroughly looked over the box screens and didn't see any holes or anything.
Edit 3: She seems to have made it outside of the room, half the food I left in the large outer room had been eaten and a large turd was in the litter box. The only time I can think of is when I left to go to work yesterday morning
