Should I join family business or move to bigger city

I’m a Class 12 commerce graduate with 84% marks from a tier 3 city and a middle-class background. I’m interested in entrepreneurship, communication, networking, and business in general.

My family has a bakery business. We don’t earn a lot, but we live comfortably. We can afford basic things, travel twice a year, and live a typical middle-class life. The business has potential, but it’s still small.

Now I’m confused about what to do next.

Part of me wants to stay and help my father grow the business. Another part of me wants to go out, study BBA in a bigger city like Indore or Bhopal, meet ambitious people, build communication skills, network, try internships, and explore opportunities outside my hometown.

The problem is that my family cannot afford expensive tier 1 cities like Mumbai, Bangalore, Delhi, etc. Indore or Bhopal are realistically the only options.

But whenever I ask people for advice, many say that doing BBA from cities like Indore or Bhopal is “not worth it” and that I should save money and directly prepare for an MBA later.

I genuinely feel stuck because this decision feels like it could shape my entire future.

I’d especially like to hear from:

- people from tier 2/tier 3 cities

- people who joined or scaled a family business

- people who did BBA from Indore/Bhopal or similar cities

- people who moved out with limited finances and built something for themselves

What would you do in my situation?
