Why does my EV charger RCD keep tripping?
I had an EV charger installed about 4 months ago. It tripped overnight on the first ever attempt at charge, reset it and contacted the installer. They never got back to me, but, it didn’t trip again, and stopped chasing them up.
Unfortunately, it started tripping again this week. But it will not stay on, tripping within a few minutes of being reset, or when octopus IOG set a charging schedule.
Contacted the installation company again, apparently someone will be in touch tomorrow. I’m not an electrician - I’m assuming this is is an RCD issue. Is this quite common? I’ve also had a look at the consumption meter outside, and the position of the CT clamp looks different to the installation manual - has this been installed correctly?
Thanks in advance for any help and advice.
