Beginner needs advice
Hi, I'm just getting into the hobby and need someone's help. Some time ago, one of my relatives heard that I wanted to start an aquarium and bought me some wood. I tried asking them what kind of wood it was, but they didn't know either. All they said was that they bought it from a local shop
Does anyone know what kind of wood this is and whether I need to clean it?
I've put the pieces in the aquarium shown in the photos to see how they fit, but I'm also wondering if it's too much wood for a 60 x 30 x 40cm (72l / 19 US gal) tank.
I tought that there's bark on it. I tried scraping it off with a knife or using a pressure washer but only some of it came off. Then I read somewhere online that u should submerge them in water to see if it softens (that's why some parts look darker), but after a couple of weeks only some parts were removable and the wood remained solid. I also tried boiling them, but the results were the same.
