[Minifuse 2 + YDP-145 + P120] How to make voice and piano (VST3i) sound in the same space? I tested playing and singing Dear Prudence, by The Beatles
Hey guys,
Recently I bought an Arturia Minifuse 2 audio interface, and it came with a VST3i piano sound that I found very good and dynamic (present in Analog Lab V), so I decided to control this VST3i sound with my Yamaha YDP-145 digital piano. I liked the result, but I feel that when I add my voice (with my AKG P120 condenser microphone) it seems like the piano is in one space and my voice is in another; it's as if the reverb doesn't affect both tracks in the same way.
I'm using Reaper, and I applied the reverb that also came with the Minifuse 2 (Rev PLATE-140) to the master channel, but even so, I feel that the reverb affects my voice more than the piano. I recorded the video below to illustrate.
Does anyone here have any tips on how to make these two tracks sound in the same space? Could the problem be the VST3i piano sound? I even thought about buying Keyscape, but it's very expensive. Maybe I'll buy it someday if I really want to invest money in the musical aspect of my life, but for now, I would like to see what I can do with the VST3i sound that came with the Minifuse 2.
Cheers!
