Been at DOC for a while now in the IT department. A huge upside is that everyone I've worked with is really nice (both IT and business). I am puzzled though at the glacial speed with which things get done, how tasks, deadlines, etc. seem to drop off people's radar regularly, how everything is hurry up and wait, and how there is a tendency to pass the buck or be evasive for even the most basic of requests. It seems for such a large agency they are really hurting in the IT maturity department, but I am wondering if I am wrong in my assessment because of my specific vantage point or if that's what others see also.
