Pivoting to Marketing in a Higher Paying Field

I’m in my 20s and am working my first corporate job. I landed what I thought was my dream job. I love the industry, I’m passionate about it, and some of my closest friends are my coworkers. However, the pay is absolutely terrible and it’s a high stress, agency setting. I can barely save after my bills. I love to travel, which ironically is what I work in, but it’s increasingly difficult with my low salary.

I’m interested in pivoting to tech marketing purely for the money. It will allow me to live my life outside of work the way I would want. I have absolute no interest in tech and not sure if I would like my job, but it also might be less stress than an agency setting.

Has anyone made this pivot into a higher paying field they aren’t interested in, specifically tech? Would love any insights.

Scared to lose a job I love but I can barely afford to live on this one /:

Building savings + paying off debt

I’m currently in the process of paying off 8k of debt. I put 1400 towards it each month and pay about 800 in bills a month. I typically have 1000 left over each month for saving / spending. Right now, my plan is to just keep as is until I pay it off and then after that put around 700 in a high yield savings and put about 500 in stocks a month. Is that a reasonable plan? Anything you would change? I don’t know much about finance, but I’m trying to learn.

Thank you in advance for your help!!
