Wheelchair or princess chair
Hi all - mum is 94 and stage 6??-7??. She can’t walk but can stand for a couple of minutes holding on to something, without holding on she will fall over. Dependant for all activities of daily life and cannot talk. She can feed herself with a fork and spoon.
She’s in a care home and has been in a wheelchair for about 6 months. She is in the chair from after dressing, wheeled out to the dining table and day room, stays in it all say and then wheeled back
to bed.
She is sitting in the chair without a cushion, I visit a lot and never once have I seen her be adjusted in the chair. It’s one of the very basic kinds.
She is a survivor. She is never sick and when she gets sick she clears it fast. She has never had a bedsore.
Should she be in a princess chair now that she is 100% in a chair and never stands up? I assume the nursing home
has made the decision to leave her in a
wheelchair as it’s safe and she is ok?
