4/5 Months of symptoms
Hi All, just hoping to get a bit of advice and opinions on what may be going on.
Background:
32 Year old Male
5'6" 240Lbs
168 Cm 108Kg
(think strongman type build, pretty muscular but also carrying fluff)
Office based job, currently have 2 children under 2. One who is 14 weeks old, one 18 months. First pregnancy was stressful son was in NICU for 3 weeks as premature, 2nd pregnancy was told all along that it wasn't going to happen partner gave birth to healthy boy at 35 weeks.
(only mentioning as 2 under 2 has definitely contributed to stress levels along with rollercoaster second pregnancy)
Symptoms:
Jan 2026:
Had numb top of right foot and forearm for approx 2 weeks, felt like pins needles and that my foot was going to cramp but never actually did.
Went to GP full suite of blood tests performed. Extremely minimal neurological exam, grip doctors thumb and touch nose nest.
My original concern was peripheral neuropathy due to an undiagnosed Hep C infection (mother died due to Hep C always had anxiety around having it but never had a test untill this point)
Hep C was negative, Full blood count, thyroid and liver checked.
Only thing if significance was slightly raised ALT levels and low ish B12 (280) although this isn't considered deficient under NHS.
Feb 2026:
Noticed a reasonable increase in floaters, and what I think are sporadic tiny flashes (not very often) led me to think could be MS.
Fasculstions started just before birth of second son, and have continued since. Don't think there hasn't been a body part affected by the twitches. But most normal places are right shoulder and forearm, hamstrings, right foot and calves.
Anxiety kicks in strong at this point, the constant twitches are really getting to me. Twitches only happen at rest and definitly increased with lack of sleep.
Start taking a range of supplements, msgneiusm, zinc, b12, d3, fish oils, ashwanganda.
Fast forward to now.
Muscle pains in various places that come and go, my right arm fatigues very quickly but no real loss of strength, perhaps a couple less reps on shoulder excersises but straight max strength doesn't seem decreased (I have always been left sided dominant visibly though arms and legs more muscular on left)
My right hand feels less dextrous, but csn still button shirts etc and grip is seemingly unaffected. But using my mouse at works feel clunky and I'm often clicking the mouse button without intending too.
Floaters still present.
I have self tested (yes I know this is bad and could be in accurate but I'm definitive)
Left foot positive babinski. Right foot neutral babinski.
Right hand positive hoffmans. Left hand negative hoffmans.
Patella tendon reflex is hyperreflixive, even the slightest tap to me tendon sends my leg flying like a shotgun has hit it, and I'm sure there's clonus present as well.
Have a GP appointment in a couple of days to go through.
