Lost marriage certificate to SSA
My friend got married back in 2012. She remembers giving her original marriage license to SSA to change her last name, but never got it back and because of that never officially filed her license with the county clerk. Her social security card shows her married last name and her past drivers licenses do as well, but when she went to get a “real ID” they rejected it because there is no official marriage license on file. They do see that she applied for a marriage license, just never turned it back in. Would it be possible the SSA still has it on file somewhere so she can get everything back in order?
