An Ethical Attempt at Shrinkflation?

An Ethical Attempt at Shrinkflation?

I purchased a package of Stella D'oro Margherite cookies last week, the mixed chocolate and vanilla kind. I was actually somewhat heartened and certainly amused by their version of shrinkflation, which I'm guessing is a response to soaring cocoa costs. While the vanilla cookies remain the same size, the chocolate ones are noticeably smaller. An interesting solution!

Minor Complaint...

I know this is very minor compared to pretty much everything else we share here so please forgive me if it seems frivolous but maybe some can relate.Throughout my breast cancer treatment of chemo, surgery and radiation, I dreaded the following questions asked cheerfully by well-meaning medical staff: "How was your weekend?" (on Mondays) and "What are your plans for the weekend?" (on Thursday and Fridays). I get that it's ingrained in American society and is meant as a pleasantry. So over the course of my active treatment I would mumble something and feel inadequate. But my honest answers would have been "Trying to get up enough energy to buy food... to cook... to do laundry..." or "Not giving in to total despair!" or "Sleep!" Is this that hard to understand?
