Don't expect anything from the State of Play today, but there's still plenty to be done

Don't expect any of the announcements we want to hear. It's way too soon for anything substantial to be revealed, even more so because we know there's nothing in the pipeline.

But that doesn't mean we should stay quiet.

We have to make as much noise as we possibly can. Flood the live chat with stuff about Destiny, how we want more of it, don't let it die, destiny 3, emotes, hashtags, etc etc etc. If Marathon S2 is shown, we want to be especially loud there to show the execs that they backed the wrong horse.

Our goal today should be to make it impossible to ignore that Destiny is at the forefront of discussion. We want to keep making headlines, to capitalize on the momentum we've got going. The more we can shape public discourse, the better the chances that Bungie execs change their minds. Or, the easier it'll be for people inside the studio to pitch ideas for future Destiny projects.

Gilded my Dredgen title every single season after title gilding became a thing

If Gambit has one million fans, then I'm one of them.

If Gambit has ten fans, then I'm one of them.

If Gambit has one fan, then that is me.

If Gambit has no fans, then that means I'm no longer on earth.

If the world is against Gambit, then I'm against the world.

I will never get to 17, but 16 is good enough for me.

Destiny is shit but it's my shit

I've had every Destiny subdeddit except the lore one muted for more than a year now. I'm coming back to post here now because I've got to say this.

I've played Destiny 2 since 2016, for more than 4k hours. And I'll keep playing this fucking shit until the servers close because goddammit it's MY shit.

This sentiment is going to echo for many people. The player counts are going to swell well beyond anything that Marathon could pull because this entire community is throwing a party at the apocalypse like that bum ass Calus wanted to. And we will show Bungie they made a mistake.

We will pretend that the Witness won in the end of Final Shape, with both Edge of Fate and Renegades being like dreams while we were plugged into the matrix. But now we just woke up and the Witness won and now the Witness is just tired and wants to die.

Destiny's so fucking shit but it's my gaming and creative culture and I love it. I don't want this franchise to die.
