How would you define faith?
I’m working through the meaning of faith and would like to hear from a wide range of perspectives.
I’m not looking for one specific denominational answer. I’m more interested in how different people understand and define faith theologically, biblically, philosophically, or personally.
A few questions I’m thinking through are:
What is faith?
Is faith mainly belief, trust, obedience, relationship, dependence, loyalty, or something else?
How would you distinguish faith from simple intellectual agreement?
How does your tradition or theological background shape your definition?
I’m asking this because I’m trying to gather multiple definitions and compare how people understand the essence of faith. I welcome Protestant, Catholic, Orthodox, academic, pastoral, personal, and even skeptical perspectives.
Peace and love.
