AITA for wanting My (34f) boyfriend (37m) of 5 years to not go to a female friend birthday party abroad so he can come with me for my birthday
My boyfriend of several years does not want me to hang out with his friends so I only know who his friends are because we bump into them on the streets sometimes.
A female friend of his organized her birthday in Portugal in a villa for 15 people. However she lives in the same city we live in. He wants to go if another female friend of his will go. It will be a weekend. I asked him a couple of weeks ago to have a weekend somewhere with me and he refused because he does not want to take another flight since he already had some flights planned for some friends wedding. However when this girl asked for her birthday he had no problem with an extra flight.
I told him then that I would like to go somewhere for my birthday too since we couldn't have a weekend recently. He said that he can't go to both Portugal for his friends birthday and somewhere for my birthday because he doesn't have many vacation days left. It would be 1/2 vacation days. We live in Europe and we have 30 mandatory vacation days per year.
He and me also went on vacation for 13 days in February.
So he is in the position of choosing whether he wants to go for my birthday abroad or for his friend's.
What if he told me now he would come to my birthday? I may still be upset if he goes to this woman birthday
