Is it too late to start this journey?

I’m 38 years old this October. Getting into network engineering at my age, would it be worth it. Worked around and messed with computers my whole life. Where would I even start and is it worth it at my age?

Context of my history: I currently work in outside sales for a fire and life safety company, looking to make a change into IT and possibly network engineering. I use to work at a smaller MSP here in Orlando that handled some hotels. Did some network troubleshooting but mostly handles low voltage cat5 repunches when the phones didn’t work. I’m completely clueless on a roadmap to get me to where I want to be. Any suggestions are welcome!
