He used to lead operations that would install reactors on submarines. Now he works for regular power plants but he is the top dog there. I mentioned these details because I believe it is relevant for his personality. He is blunt, the calm person in the chaos, analytical and has zero tolerance for lack of discipline in himself or others. very demanding, stoic and intimidates people through his strong personality and intelligence.

He is never raising his voice at me, never insults me but I feel him very cold. He has never been a warm person but I didn't mind as I am also somewhat avoidant. so it worked for us. But people walk on eggshells around him, he can snap anytime and I am sure he thinks very highly of himself. People respect him.

Now, I have a younger sister who is something else. 2 times divorced at just 35, randomly cuts contact with everyone to explore the world, just a backpack and some snacks. She is a free soul. We have 3 children and when they were spending their time with the auntie I never knew what will happen. She gave them lots of sugar, took them on adventures. kids loved her.

she is the only person my husband is different with. He looks down on most people and is very serious most of the time. When she is around they constantly laugh. My husband doesn't even laugh with us, at home. When she is around she throws her arm around his neck and is like: bro in law, still the big scary boss? I saw you have quite a mess in the backyard. Will you clean it out or need someone to delegate to? and she would laugh. He always wears ties and white shirts and is totally neat, clean cut, but he is different around her. She loves urbex (exploring abandoned places) and one night the 2 of them just went out. She wanted to show him an abandoned complex she found. She also visited Chernobyl in the past and they would talk about it for hours as it was his field.

Once she asked him to join her on exploring a decayed building and he had just arrived home so he was wearing the white shirt and tie. and she said: oh no, no no, you very important person, this will take your wife forever to clean. Go and get a T-shirt, now. I barely even saw my husband in a T-shirt in the last years.

people, even relatives are very "official" around him and she jokes around, is sarcastic with him and he is laughing his ... off. he is like a teenager with her. He is accomplished, also good looking and in good shape and I start to get insecure. myself wouldn't dare to talk to my husband like that
