Has anyone had minor children tested.
So I credit kboom100 for sharing this study.

Which is results of a 20 year study of initiating statins in children with familial high cholesterol. The good news is they didn't have any heart attacks and their livers tested normal.
My question is who has tested their minor children and how did drs respond and children respond?
I think I'll get my children tested but I had thought I'd do it for mid teenagers but wonder if I should do it now or right when they become teens. Honestly at the moment for 2 of them it is a struggle getting vaccinated so a blood draw is too much now unless I was really worried about cholesterol.
For me I'm not super concerned about them having high cholesterol. I didn't develop cholesterol above 160 until around 40. But it was still high before that, it was 140 at 30. I wish i would have started statins at 140 but my family harping about my grandpa really made me hesitant plus at the time it wasn't at a level drs would typically prescribe for.
I have high lipoprotein a but it's 164 nmol/l so not sky high but high enough my children likely need testing as I have familial high cholesterol and they likely do.
So what experience do you all have with having minor children tested for ldl and lp(a) and how did their results compare to yours.
