I have a 2022 VW Jetta with a little more than 100k miles on it. I owe about $7900 on it. Is it irrational for me to have a ton of anxiety about this?
Long story short, I love to travel and I also have in-laws living 1,200 miles away that we usually visit at least once a year. I live in a semi-rural area that doesn't have public transportation. I commute about 42 miles one-way for work.
I've been having rather significant anxiety about the mileage on my vehicle, sometimes to the point of not wanting to do anything at all on the weekends out of fear of putting more miles on it. It's affecting my mental health a lot throughout the week as I make that commute, too.
Am I being irrational or should I genuinely be very concerned about my car completely breaking down before I pay it off?
