Help with top laner macro during lane phase and TP
Looking for advice on a play I made during my recent game and wondering if it was the best decision. Im Sett vs Yone top lane 12 min into the game and pretty handily beating Yone in lane having him like 1-4 and im far ahead of him in gold and xp. With this lead while walking to lane, I notice the enemy bot lane hitting our bot tower (mind you my bot lane is already losing) and my bot lane duo is just getting back to lane at the tower they're hitting.
I TP on a ward on the bottom lane brush behind them and end up shutting down the enemy Jhin burning my flash, and killing their Lux and at the same time the enemy jungle Skarner ganked bot and we fended him off too burning his flash only. In the process we only lost my Flash and Ult and our Soraka died. I drone top and notice the Yone used this time to take all my plates and destroy my Tower. Immediately after my roam bot, i recall and return top lane and with more gold because I got the 2 kills bot and still destroy the Yone. Although the enemy Jhin typed "That Sett roam just threw the game" in all chat. I'm just wondering now was it the correct play to do? Or was it too early in the game to roam and give the enemy an entire tower for free? I just want advice because as a Plat 4 top laner I want to help out wherever I can for my team instead of just snowballing only against my lane opponent and letting the rest of the map be a coin flip and being isolated on my top lane island. Mind you I got the 2 kills bot and got the Jhin shutdown as well.
Just wondering if that was the play to do instead of catching all those waves and continue to abuse the Yone until I take his Tier 1 tower first before roaming or TPing. I can also provide the match ID.
