Hermes Agent doesn't seem to be able to memorize anything?

Hello!

I recently set up Hermes Agent on a Raspberry Pi 4 8GB. I wanted to try it out and see if I could get it to work. It is installed, set up with Discord integration and CLI, and I have tried it with multiple AI models (gemma4:e4b, gpt-oss:20b, ministral-3:8b, granite4.1:8b, etc). The models are running on my personal AI server with an RTX 5060 Ti 16Gb

The problem I am having is that it doesn't seem to be able to save any sort of context? For example:

Me: "Hello! My name is Erik, what's yours?"
Hermes: "Hello! I am a large language model, trained by Google. It's nice to meet you, Erik! How can I help you today?"
Me: "What is my name?"
Hermes: "I do not have access to your personal information, so I do not know your name."

As you can see, it doesn't seem to have any access to my chat history with it, and it also doesn't store any information. If I tell it, for example, to remember its own name, it doesn't make any adjustments to its SOUL file. It doesn't save anything in memory, it doesn't seem to be able to execute anything or perform the simplest of tasks, etc.

What am I doing wrong?

USB-C ports on my Zenbook looks different?

Does anyone know why this is? One seems to have slightly more exposed metal than the other, as well as what I guess are 2 solder joints at the bottom?

I asked Gemini, and it said it is damaged, but I don't think so since it works fine?

EDIT: It is and AMD laptop, so not Thunderbolt. From what I gather in the comments, as well as my own research, the difference seems to stem from different USB-C revisions, and Asus sourcing "premium" USB-C ports for the USB 4.0 interface

The laptop is new, only like 2 weeks old, so it should just be a USB revision, but I judt wanted to double check as it didn't make sense to me at first 😅
