Took the biceps and coat overlay from my Dr Aphra fig to put on my ND 5 custom. I know the coat is inaccurate, but I still want to get the right shade of green on it, any suggestions?

Typically I like to do reversible kit bashes so I do very little paint work, if any of you guys have any suggestions on a paint that looks good, is beginner friendly and would keep the coat flexible while not rubbing any paint on the fig it’s self let me know. I’ve also seen people dye the plastic in a pot and THAT seems way easier to not mess up and would likely make it so my commando droid can still be converted back to its original state without any paint rub. Thanks!
