Little Rain | The Indian Princess

Little Rain is a nineteen-year-old Hekawi who has never been more than a day's ride from home and who desperately wants to see what's over the next hill, even while carrying her father's warnings around in her saddlebag. Curious, observant, and quietly defiant, she spends her days helping her people and her evenings watching distant trains, wondering whether the world beyond the prairie is as dangerous as everyone claims.

She hopes understanding the white world might help her people survive it.

And we can dig it!

And we can dig it. - Collection

A couple of days ago, someone around here mentioned "Hey, that Desslok fellow does lots of black bots" - and that got the ol' noodle ticking over, thinking 'yeah, I guess I do', especially with the Twin Pines project, and me adding lots of Indians and Freedmen.

Enough so that I should put together a collection, since finding them can be difficult (we really need some tags for ethnicities), I put them all in a collection for you guys (also I made it public so anyone can add too).

Mercy, your black slave

Mercy, your black slave

“Neither slavery nor involuntary servitude, except as a punishment for crime whereof the party shall have been duly convicted, shall exist within the United States, or any place subject to their jurisdiction.”

Mercy, your lifelong slave, the girl you've known since you were both young, had no idea those words existed. That Abraham Lincoln drafted and submitted the Emancipation Proclamation of 1863. That humans no longer were permitted to own other humans. That black men were free men.

Until yesterday.

Twin Pines | For a Handful of Dust

Twin Pines | For a Handful of Dust

The Old West, 1869. The Civil War is over, and the young nation hungers for land. Homesteaders stake fragile claims on the prairie, cattle barons grab what they can, and gunfighters carve reputations with lead. The frontier does not reward the righteous — it rewards the stubborn, the lucky, and the ugly.

In the heart of the wild, untamed Dakota Territory sits Twin Pines, a town built on whiskey and sin. The north end of Main Street offers respectability: a church, a bank, and a bell tower clock donated by Silas Crawford, a man whose generosity comes with a leash. The south end is where the red lanterns glow and the piano never stops, where Maeve Callahan pours the whiskey and Madam Delphine's girls collect secrets in the bedroom worth more than silver.

Are you a gunslinger seeking revenge? A freedman looking for a space to call his own? A gambler chasing one good hand at the Silver Dollar? A bounty killer with wanted posters in your pocket and hot lead on your mind? An agent of the Tong on a mission for Mister Wing, the most dangerous man in town? Or are you just a stranger with a past you'd rather leave behind?

Whatever your story is, you'll find it - and more. The prairie is waiting, the clock is striking high noon, and somewhere in the valley, a handful of dust might be worth more than gold...

Accidental reversion?

Hey Dev guys -

So a couple of weeks ago, I built a bot that was largely placeholder. It was a bot that was using artwork for an RPG that me and my table will be doing (the redheaded girl leaning against the crate). I sat on the idea for a while, it didn't go anywhere, so I decided to repurpose the bot for something else. Change all the text, deleted the art, uploaded new art (the girl leaning on the fence post), and set about playtesting it. Everything's been fine, the dynamic art changes fine, I was about to give it the 'This is good to go'

But then today, I was playing around - and there was some lag for a moment, and suddenly the picture reverted to the Star Wars one.

I'm running windows 10, edge version 148.0.3967.83 on SP version 0dda40. I was going to replace the art back to normal, but I thought I'd let you guys look at the state of the bot as it is now, so I backed out of any saves. About 12:30 west coast time, if you need to search your logs.

EDIT - Peeking at the revision history, it looks something did happen at 2026-05-27 12:38:45

Princess Xandra | Shipwrecked with a Spoiled Rotten Princess

https://saucepan.ai/companion/8a981495-1777-429e-bc1e-9d03aae5bec7

The Residian Star was supposed to carry Princess Xandra Vel to Zeltros for the Mirrorglass Regatta, a week of parties, gossip, scandal, and holonet glamor.

Instead, the luxury starcruiser exploded.

Now you are stranded on an uncharted, uninhabated world, on a tropical island with Her Serene Highness herself: spoiled, stunning, useless, barefoot, and personally offended by the existence of sand and weather. Hours ago, she would not have noticed you unless you were holding a tray of iced caf. Now she needs you for water, shelter, protection, and the horrifying possibility of manual labor.

Xandra still gives orders like the galaxy owes her room service. Unfortunately for her, you are the only one left to obey.

HTTP 500 error when uploading to Portraits?

So I was trying to upload a couple of alternate pics to a bot I'm going to launch here soon, and I keep getting the HTTP 500 error (and I tried on a couple of different bots). Any thoughts?

Thank you to the Mods and Devs!

TL;DNR - thank you, powers that be, for being reasonable, open and communicative (even though that's probably a great deal of work), and for putting in all that hard work for us! You guys are underappreciated and need some love!

The long version: So I stumbled across SP 6 months ago because the servers on JAI were doing their usual up-down-up-down dance for a weekend, uploaded a couple of bots, didn't think much of it. Then there was some drama over on JAI where a friend of mine got banned for reasons that to this day (and after multiple asks) we're still not entirely clear on, and so we pivoted to a new home for him: here.

I was continuing to serve two masters, posting here and there - but then I ran into drama last weekend over a bot that could be looked at as underaged (she wasn't, I clearly said in several places that she presented as 19 and was mentally mature even though she was a robot that had only been built three years ago, but sure - I could see the point). So while I disagreed with the ruling, since age wasn't important I stripped that information out and reuploaded her - only to have the bot nuked and get three days in the penalty box, despite trying to comply (Was it the art? Did I miss something? What?)

Anyway, I decided to leave the platform because of it.

As a counterpoint, the couple of times I've brushed up against infractions and unintended ToS violations, you guys have all been super helpful, very open and communicative, and willing to work with me to course correct. And I know that u/Theodrax has had similar encounters with you guys and had similar happy endings.

So I just wanted to take a moment to thank you guys for all your hard work. As a creator, the way you guys operate is a massive, MASSIVE checkmark in the win column for the platform.
