Help! After updating to Sonoma, my MacBook Pro (2015, 13 inch, i7, 16GB RAM, 1TB SSD) ran impossibly slow* - so I reverted root patches with the intention of reinstalling them - but now patch reinstall is failing completely. Any ideas how to fix? Thanks!
*After updating to Sonoma 14.8.7 It would boot up fine, but opening, closing and dragging windows was so slow it was unusable - even with Reduce Transparency and Reduce Motion switched on, and the Wallpaper switched to a static image.
I have Automatic Software Update switched to off, and it's showing up as Sonoma under About my Mac, and in Terminal as 14.8.7 BuildVersion 23J520.
UPDATE:
Now having tried a few different things without success, I’ve done a complete erase and reinstall from Time Machine back to Monterrey - and will try again with OCLP tomorrow, this time to either Sonoma or Sequoia.
I’ve read that a few people reckon Sequoia, counterintuitively, works better on the MBP 2015 13inch for some reason?
I have Sonoma running on my 2017 iMac 27inch fine. I’d like them to to be running the same OS and same version of FCP across both Macs,
