How honest do you need to be for therapy to work?
I feel like my people pleasing gets in the way of communicating with therapists. They always say things like "if you want to talk about something else, feel free to interrupt" and things like that. And there's no way I'd feel comfortable sharing if my therapist is frustrating me. Which means I often sit there feeling like we are wasting time.
I imagine this is a barrier, but to what extent? I am generally pretty honest with what's happening in my life, it's just hard to say things that might be received negatively. "you can be honest, it wont hurt my feelings" ya right lol.
