Im planning to travel to Hokkaido in late Aug to early Sept for 7 days. Plane lands and leave on Sapporo. It is a solo trip.

I prefer not to drive (i sucks at driving and i heard parking is expensive in JP).

1. Am i going to miss out a lot from the trip without a car?

2. Any suggestions or recommendations on the itinerary if I plan to visit Hakodate as well?

3. I heard it is hot in Aug/Sept. Should I just scrap the plan, visit Australia instead, and come back for Hokkaido in late Nov? (My next availability)
