7/10 days into antibiotics. Sour taste and Thrush! Candida concern? Should I continue the next few days?
Taking Augmentin and Flagyl (Metronidazole) rn and struggling with diarrhea for the last week which im just assuming is typical.
Suddenly developed a taste in my mouth that feels like constant morning breath, goes away for a few minutes after brushing teeth then back - its more sour than "metallic" like often described side effect of the Flagyl.
I'm noticing my tongue is starting to grow increasingly white/fuzzy looking over the last day and im concerned its candida and oral thrush. I had a whiteish tongue before but it was further back in my mouth now it seems to be spreading and getting paler/slightly yellow tinged.
Haven't heard back from my gastroenterologist and not really sure what do. Worried that now i'll have a fungal issue to deal with, not sure if I should continue on the antibiotics or if its just too late now and I have to tackle whatever is causing the thrush. Still have 2 more doses today so cant decide whether to take it or take a break until I hear from my doctor tomorrow (hopefully)
