New grill Lights.

New grill Lights.

Grabbed these NEOXIST Grill lights right off Amazon and installed them on my 26’ SR5 today. Only took 45 minutes. They snap right into the grill. They were cheap though so let’s see how they hold up. They look pretty good! Thoughts? Anyone else have these?

Diatoms Battle & NitrAtes

So, I recently went away on Vaca and my time-clock for my lights failed on. I came home and luckily the tank residents were fine, but I had a pretty heavy Diatom bloom. I did a 7-day blackout and it’s almost all gone [pic above is of today, unfortunately I did not take a pic of the Diatoms bloom].

I know that the light being on for days was obviously the main contributor, but I have been battling Diatoms from day one with this tank. My tap comes with some bonus NitrAtes [about 15 ppm] hence the Pothos & Lucky Bamboo roots on the Back rim… They have done a great job with buffering the NitrAtes. I do a 25% WC 1x/wk.

I assume the excess micronutrients are another contributor to my incessant Diatoms issue? Can someone smarter than me confirm this?

In the tank I have Java Fern attached to the bottom of terra cotter pots [left] and sporadic Anibuas Nana attached to rocks, the floater is water sprite. This is a low-tech set up, no CO2. Drift wood is Mopani & Cholla.

Tank residents are as follows: [3] Nerite Snails, [6] Platies, [3] Pearl Gourami

This is a 40Gal Breeder - Im running a Fluval 307 canister with a Spray Bar Output, a dual Hygger Sponge with canisters housing Matrix, a UV Filter I only run when needed, and my Sponge filters air pump’s 2nd output is running a bubbler that is under the sand behind the only non-natural thing in the tank, the resin “hide”.

Here are my question[s]: Does this Tank look healthy? How can I improve the plant situation? What plants can I add to this tank to make it more filled out? This is my first planted tank so I need beginner friendly suggestions. Is there anything else I can be doing to combat the Diatoms or is this just a ‘use the lights as little as possible” Situation? I have attempted to add ghost shrimp twice now and my platies took them out both times. What bottom dweller can I add? Are Cory’s my only option?

If you’ve made it this far, thank you for reading. Any and all advice or constructive criticism is welcome - thx

New to Toyo (Gen 6 4Runner)

Hi all, so, my job got me this truck (Picture is just for attention, lol). It’s for Work and Personal use. I’ve never owned a Toyota, but in the week I’ve had this truck I now understand the hype. This is a NICE vehicle. I am already in love.

I plan on just giving her some new shoes and maybe eventually some Lighting upgrades. I am an electrician and will continue to do more research before I’m ready to talk about lighting.

My immediate question is can someone give me a good wheel / Tire Size combo that I don’t need to do a lift kit with? I want to fill in that wide open wheel well space a bit more. I don’t really want to get involved with leveling it out unless it’s necessary.

I will mainly be driving this in the street, although, I am grabbing a beach pass so I can take it on the beach. I live on Long Island, I am a busy Dad so figure I’ll get to the beach with this maybe half a dozen times or so a year.

I like the idea of slightly wider tires just purely from an aesthetic standpoint, but not to the point of wheel rubbing, or especially noisy when on the street.

I’m a bit overwhelmed with what I’m finding online so figured I’d go right to the pros.

Thanks for any advice in advance!
