USCE and LoR

I'm a Non-US IMG (23) who is about to graduate and I want to apply for residency this year. I've completed my step I and will soon do step II + OET to complete ECFMG certification.

I'm currently stressing over USCE and LoR since due to personal difficulties I've only gathered 1 month of hands on USCE (in a private clinic) and secured a 2 month observership. Is it good enough of USCE?

Moreover I already have 1 LoR from the MD of the clinic but will have to ask another one in early September during the observership (after about 3 weeks of attending), is it too tight? I already have 2 LoRs from my home country in case but I would prefer to grab a second US LoR.
Is it feasible? I'm stressing on whether I have good chances for my application. It would be vital for me to apply this year but would rather be sure of my chances.

2027 Timeline

I'm a non-US IMG who wants to start residency in July 2027 and will apply this September. I currently have:

  • Step I + will sit STEP II in late July 2026
  • LoR (not sure on IM SEL, would need clarification)
  • Personal Statement
  • NO OET and therefore no ECFMG certification

As far as I know as long as you have the first three you can apply without any drawbacks but some people on here claim that you have to be ECFMG certified before late September.

Am I missing something?
