am i the only one annoyed by people NEED to relate to every song
the only one that honestly really annoys me is with Gutter. the song is about homelessness, structural and systemic oppression, and the way families just throw you to the side and don't do anything to help, and people are using it all over the internet, specifically the line where it goes "don't see the pain, see the harm, see the carvings on their arm" and it just annoys me that people are taking this ONE section of the song and making it about them and "omg its SOOO RELATABLE AHAHAHA" like especially as someone who is struggling and probably will in the future struggle with homelessness and systemic oppression and being tossed aside by family, this song really hits hard for me like REALLY hard, and it irks me to see people using it as an angsty teen carving your arm depression trend. like there are plenty of other songs you can relate to but why do you have to take this song and make it strictly about the carvings on the arm and turn it into some angsty "I hate my life" trend when you have never experience what the song is actually about... idk I might just be weird but for some reason it makes me feel weird to see😭😅 especially the way they do it with fake blood or marks on their arm in a pretty expensive looking room fake suffering and crying while dancing to the line. its odd.
