How interrelated are the concepts/developments of object permanence and object constancy (if at all)?

Inspired by originally an internet argument, but now I am legitimately curious on thoughts about it.

I'm sure this is a popular take, I'm sorry, but I have recently been getting into Persona 3 lately for the first time and I got through most of July - I adored the scene in which the protagonist and Yuki bonded on the beach. I definitely chose for the protag to hug her!! I thought it was a beautiful moment!!
