If my store manager fires me from the deli, can I whip out the “they worked me in here without a food handlers card” card?

ok, I know what you’re thinking—from the title, it seems like I’m a lil shit who’s just causing trouble and you’re ready to downvote me, but there’s more to the story…

…right this way!

have a seat,

ok. so my old manager got a bad case of carpal tunnel syndrome and is due to be out of work for like 10 months… we got this new manager who talks like Elizabeth Holmes and is ex-military, she’s been writing up everyone left-and-right, including the other store managers.

Well, I just called out sick today because I barely slept and am feeling pretty crappy in general. i missed two days of work last week apparently and I got written up for it, the schedule app apparently was glitched out… soooo that’s not my fault.

and i got written up another time for not finishing cleaning the deli before clocking out for the day… I tried! I also was never told that I HAVE to stay or that I’d get in trouble for it… so that was a bummer.

so essentially, I have a bad feeling that I might get written up again today, or fired next time I come into work. I do my best at my job and my other managers and coworkers all like me and think I’m a good dude to have around there… so it would really be a huge bummer.

but, here’s the catch, if this manager tries to fire me, can I report her for having me work in the deli without a food handler’s card? Or would it just be *me* who gets in trouble for working without a food handler’s? cuz I don’t wanna report it if it’s ME who gets in trouble.

This manager has been doing plenty of other illegal business practices and so I wanted to ask you fine Redditors today. :)

I hate when documentaries go into a random side-plot about one of the people in it

like, I don’t care about you. it’s not a documentary about you, is it? I don’t care about a heartfelt scene where you visit the old donut shop on the corner of 12th and Ray st. I don’t wanna have a whole side plot in the documentary. GET BACK TO THE MAIN STORY. it just feels like filler. lol

Did Kanye drive a Bug?

currently watching jeen-hugs and seen Ye walk past this/a similar car twice now. I drive a ‘06 droptop so it’d be cool if he did.

Got diagnosed with general epilepsy after a benzodiazepine withdrawal seizure, did the neurologist make a mistake?

I took a sleep study after and I didn’t fall asleep, but to my surprise, they said they found abnormalities even with me being half-awake during it. it’s weird to me because I wouldn’t have guessed they’d find anything abnormal since it was simply a benzo withdrawal seizure (or so I thought).

She diagnosed me with general epilepsy and put me on seizure medication (which I haven’t taken since, because I don’t think I need it). I told her I was taking it and doing well so that I could get my driver’s license back (and I HAVE been doing well).

I was also withdrawing from kratom during the sleep study and Im not sure if that would interfere with the results. I have passed out a few times in the past and maybe those were seizures too?

Idk. It’s all very strange! My mom has had seizures before too just out of nowhere in high-stress situations. So would I be wrong in calling myself epileptic?

Am I off the hook from work tomorrow if they accidentally deleted my shift from my online schedule?

so, I know I was supposed to work tomorrow. my deli manager was just saying that I would work tomorrow in the deli instead of being a courtesy clerk. but then I swore later, I heard her tell me and a coworker that I’m only in there on Friday. or maybe she meant I’ll only be CC on Friday.

but anyway, i checked my schedule after work today and the rest of the week is deleted for some reason. awhile back, I had what I think was an accidental schedule deletion for just one day.

I didn’t show up that day and no one said anything. I DO plan to at least ask them for the rest of the days this week, but can I least be off the hook for tomorrow? am I legally protected to at least get away with tomorrow?

I’m a young person and live with my parents so I just plan to use the day to catch up on some shit.

THE TRANSITION FROM mama’s favorite TO sisters and brothers

Mama’s Favorite feels like it’s supposed to represent Kanye being enabled to be a God. >!When Kanye asks, “so do you-do you-do you think I come off too arrogant”!<, it‘s like one of those make-or-break moments as a parent, in Donda’s shoes.

Your words will influence your child tremendously. >!And after she says her final words, “it’s really just… perfect“, it transitions into this intense workout type song, Sisters and Brothers, it feels like a walkout song in sports or wrestling. and just before the beat comes in, it says “all of my friends”, which I think represents those people around Ye who feed his ego, but have also been there for him thru thick & thin, which given Kanye’s struggles in life and with how much he’s been alienated, that really speaks volumes about their dedication to those friendships, and the lyrics “it’s finna get a lot more dangerous” are like a warning call, like him saying “you want me to have some oomph about me? well, here it comes!!<

it’s a fucking great follow-up song to Mama’s Favorite, which feels very soft, sensitive, and reminiscent/nostalgic/appreciative of his roots and where he came from.

I would definitely listen to Sisters and Brothers when I need to beat somebody up, like a BULLY.

It’s like the best popular art that all kinds of people across the world enjoy is somehow both conformist and contrarian. How do they push the bar while simultaneously maintaining staying power with the masses?
