Does his name also refer to Latin freestyle or am I just reaching?
(Hopefully this should be a relief post for those tired of the simping posts here)
[Quick summary for those who don't know: Freestyle (a.k.a. Latin freestyle and originally Latin hip hop) is an electronic genre that emerged in the early-80's in the NYC metro area, New Jersey, Philadelphia, and Miami, primarily among Hispanic Americans and Italian Americans (the latter probably in the former two and/or three areas). The genre has also spread to other cities in the US such as Los Angeles, Detroit, and Chicago. Artists and bands some of you guys may recognize associated with the genre include Lisa Lisa (and Cult Jam), Exposé, Judy Torres, TKA, Stevie B, Johnny O, and Lil Suzy]
I know he is named after the style of improvisation in hip hop, but I just wanna know if he is also named after the mentioned music genre, or am I just tweaking in general?
(Btw, coming from someone who doesn't reside in the mentioned cities but still appreciates Latin freestyle)
