Weird question about common sound effects
Sorry if this is the wrong sub, please let me know if there's a better one to ask this. What I want to know, is when did they start adding a squeaky brake sound to every car that stops in both TV and movies? It could be a 40 yr old junker or a brand new Ferrari, but every car on screen has brakes that makes a sound when the car stops! Same question about any blade being drawn - from a kitchen knife in a block to a sword on the battlefield, they all make the same sound, which obviously doesn't even exist. Any ideas when these started ?
