W211 722.6 Slipping 5th gear.
Hi everyone, I took my 2003 E240 for a trip in a mountainous area, on the way back i noticed the gear staying in 5th gear and slipping badly. Eventually I came to a complete stop and the car wouldn't move at all, even in reverse. There was no smell or smoke that I have noticed.
The issues resolved after parking for 30 minutes then it came again twice. I managed to limp back home. Now the car drives well (I drove 5 miles)
The car has done 85k miles and I serviced the gear box last year.
Can anyone help me know whats the issue?
