Sloppy Prints

Hey folks,
It’s been 6 months since I received my printer and compared to my Bambu X1C it’s just not producing the same “out of the box” high level quality prints. I’m using Snapmaker SnapSpeed PLA in my U1 but open to other recommendations. I can see over extrusion issues (yes I calibrate), imperfections with the first layer etc…and it really struggles with overhangs without supports. Bottom line, the prints aren’t always consistently clean.

I’m comparing this as a straight out of the box scenario. Find a file, slice it, print.

My question is, has anyone been able to dial in SM Orca to produce Bambu level quality? Of course I’m trying to keep it to out of the box settings but at this point it’s time to dial this printer in. My Bambu X1C with AMS is still a rock star after 3 years but of course much slower for multi color printing and a lot of waste.

I’m not hating on my U1, quite the opposite. I don’t have time to tinker as much these days so when my kids ask for a new dinosaur I need to download, slice and print. Please let me know how you’ve dialed in your printer to keep it consistent.

Thank you.

Residential Electricians (New Construction)

We are in the middle of building a home and I’m curious about some of the pricing we’ve been receiving from our builder. We fully understand there is going to be mark up. Fully understanding different parts of the country (U.S.) will have varying prices.

- How much would you charge to run a 6/3 cable with ground from the electrical panel to the side of the garage which is 6 feet away and about 5 studs worth of drilling to the side of the house. Literally a straight line from the panel to the exterior wall. Then install a 50 amp manual generator receptacle housing and provide a 50 amp two pole breaker. This is new construction so you’re still in the rough stage.
