Ampeg RB 210 Dead on Arrival
First a little background. I've been a guitar player for the better part of 15 years and have recently shifted to bass for my project. I've owned a vast array of musical equipment throughout my life and as a result have a healthy amount of experience. After a 'what the hell' moment, I purchased an Ibanez Iron Label 5 string and an Ampeg RB 210 500w.
From the moment I opened the Ampeg box I have had nothing but troubles. The combo completely failed to power on. So I called sweetwater support and they walked me through troubleshooting (known working power cable, known working outlet, check fuses), then when none of it worked we settled on a replacement. The next arrived two days later from a completely different warehouse with the same issue. A complete refusal to power on at all, and I even performed the same troubleshooting steps.
I guess I'm here asking if anybody else has had such a poor luck of the draw when it comes to these? I google issues and find that some have problems in their lifespan, but do not see any issues as outright egregious as this situation. Or did I miss something so completely obvious that should have occurred to me?
Now I'm waiting on an exchange for a Rumble 500 from Sweetwater, but must wait for the latest DOA amp to make it to Ft. Wayne for them to send the rumble my way. Boy, am I exasperated.
