Alternatives to ASICS GT-1000

I was running with the ASICS GT-1000 12s for a couple of years and recently switched to the GT-2000 13s for training for my first half marathon. Since then I’ve had a lot of glute injury problems come up, which I’ve had a long history of due to a previous back injury.

This week I tried my old GT-1000s again on 2 runs and noticed that most of the pain and instability goes away, despite it being a less stable shoe with a lot more wear and tear.

My theory is that the aggressive stability of the GT-2000s put too much stress on my glutes, whereas the GT-1000s allow my calves and tendons to absorb more of the stress as they allow me to pronate more and probably have less of a heel drop by now. I have relatively wide flat feet and tend to overpronate, though my physio told me it’s not much to worry about.

Any recommendations on a replacement shoe suitable for the mileage of half marathon training? I’m looking at the Boston 13s as they’re more neutral and have a lower heel drop but am a little wary of the narrowness
