I go to a T25, and I was talking to some of my friends at other schools who mentioned how their degree was extremely hard with tons of ppl failing and whatnot (berk). I wasn’t surprised hearing this, but it got me thinking if the actual course content of the program is all that different, or if it’s merely rigor which causes the differences across perceived difficulty.

Even if a school is ranked higher than another, the average student body within the T30 is pretty much the same (barring HYPSM/Caltech). However, even amongst those, some are considered hard (MIT/Caltech) while others easier relative to much lower ranked schools.

So what gives? Different content, harder questions, more work, etc?
