Stress was destroying my gut for years When I finally fixed my anxiety, my IBS practically disappeared
Okay so I'm writing this because I genuinely wish someone had told me years ago.
I had IBS for years. YEARS.... The bloating, the diarrhea, then constipation, the pains that would just hit out of nowhere. And on top of that panic attacks and anxiety attacks constantly. I thought these were two separate problems I had to deal with.
They weren't.
I didn't figure this out through a doctor or therapy or anything like that I just slowly started noticing that every single time my anxiety was bad, my stomach was destroyed. Every time. And I started thinking… what if this is all the same thing?
So I started focusing on the anxiety instead of the IBS. Not medication, not another elimination diet. Just actually working on my stress, trying to calm my nervous system down, not letting myself spiral.
And the IBS just… went away. Not immediately but it faded. The cramping, the running to the bathroom, the unpredictable stomach gone.
Still now if I have a stressful few days I'll feel something. Like my gut reminding me to chill out lol. But compared to what I was dealing with before it's basically nothing...
Anyway If you've tried every diet and every supplement and nothing is working please look at your stress levels. Genuinely changed my life
