Gym and karate timelines with no T
Hey I'm in my mid-40s, considering top surgery, and don't plan to go on T.
For about a year, I've been lifting 3-4 a week and training karate a few times a week as well. Nothing serious, but I really enjoy karate (I do it with my adolescent son), and have really seen my confidence grow from both karate and lifting. I know my kid would be really disappointed if I wasn't doing karate with him for more than a month or so.
I'd like some thoughts on timelines based on other people's experiences, realizing everyone is different:
-What might the recovery timeline for lifting be? When might I start doing lower body stuff (squat, deadlift, etc.), core, upper body?
-Similarly, what might the recovery timeline for karate be? When might I start doing kata (low impact, kind of like dancing), kicking, punching, sparring...
-When might I expect to be back to my current level of strength/fitness?
Thanks so much, I really appreciate it. If there is already a post about this, please direct me to it. I posted to r/TopSurgery as well.
