Gabapentin
I suddenly developed serious hyperhidrosis around 2020. Before that I had hyperhidrosis in my hands and feet, but nowhere else.
In 2020 though, I suddenly started sweating everywhere. I got these ”hot flashes” all the time. I was under 30 when it started (just in case someone is gonna suggest perimenopause). The doctors just ignored me but they did some basic tests and found nothing, so I got zero help from them.
I have restless legs syndrome and I used to take pramipexole to alleviate the symptoms. Apparently nowadays Gabapentin is the main drug to use to treat it, so I started with that around one month ago.
Suddenly, I don’t have hyperhidrosis anymore?? I’m currently in Spain where it’s HOT and I’m not sweating more than I did before 2020. I’m sweating from the usual places (armpits, hands and feet) but not all over body like before. My head and face were the absolute worst before, but now even those places have calmed down.
I read that for some people Gabapentin can cause hyperhidrosis, but for some people it helps with that.
I’m curious to know if anyone else here has tried Gabapentin and it helped them?
Maybe this is just a phase and the hyperhidrosis comes back again, but atleast I have gotten to experience a few weeks of calmness when it comes to sweating😅
