I really want to see the movie but I'm a bit squeamish when it comes to one thing about this movie. How bad is it?
Hi, sorry if the title is vague af. I'll be more specific here.
I'm really excited to see this movie at some point, but here's the thing: I've learned thanks to letterboxd reviews that essentially a cat is killed in the movie (and possibly eaten? idk). And if there's one thing that I'm super sensitive about in movie, it's violence on animals, people hurting animals and killing them. I'm even more sensitive when it comes to cats who are put in this position, as I'm a big cat person and I relate a lot. I will also say: I'm not usually that squeamish and can handle gore in horror, but this is my line I guess.
Now, I'm not spoiled about anything else regarding the movie. I've read the synopsis, some reviews, I saw some posts on Reddit regarding some plot points that don't make sense without context, but otherwise that's it. But I'd like to prepare myself before going to the movie: is the scene involving the violence on the cat graphic? Does the scene linger, and are there several shots of the cat's body? Is the situation prompted by something in particular?
I'd just like to prepare myself, know when the scene happen in case I have to leave the theater for a sec, and, if it's extra uncomfy, I guess I'll skip on the movie altogether. But either way, any help (or reassurance, if that's possible lol) is appreciated!
