Negotiating a 2025 Model 3 LR RWD (Quicksilver, 8k miles) – Is $36k a win or should I pass?

Hey all,

About to pull the trigger on a used 2025 Model 3 Highland from a local Jeep lot and wanted to see if I’m missing any red flags before I sign the papers this afternoon.

Specs:

  • 2025 Long Range RWD (Highland refresh)
  • ~8,000 miles
  • Quicksilver paint (PN00)
  • 18" Photon wheels
  • Carfax is clean, 1-owner lease return, no accidents.

I’ve got them down to $36,250 on the sale price. The real reason I’m looking at this vs. buying direct from Tesla is the trade-in. They’re giving me $7,000 for my dad’s 2014 Mercedes E350 which is in pretty rough shape. I’m fairly certain Tesla or Carmax would only offer $4k or $5k max for it, so I'm viewing that extra $2k+ as a "hidden" discount on the Tesla.

A few things I’m overthinking:

  1. The paint code is definitely PN00, but in the dealer lot lighting it looks way darker than I expected - almost like a deep grey. Does Quicksilver usually look that moody when it's not in direct sun?
  2. The Carfax has an entry for "Battery serviced" at the Jeep dealer in March. I'm assuming they just charged it or checked the 12V, but does that sound like a red flag for a car with only 8k miles?
  3. Am I crazy to skip the extra 1-year used warranty I’d get from Tesla just to get the better trade-in value here? (There's the exact same car on Tesla's used inventory, but I would have to pay an extra 1k for the delivery as well).

I’m planning to do the freeway test drive to check for any of those Highland vibrations people talk about, but if there’s anything else specific to the 2025s I should look for in Service Mode or anything else, let me know.

Thanks! Hopefully I'll join the Tesla fam soon.
