Personal opinion on wildclient.

Amazing visuals and all, and yes it works but is it safe and trustworthy at the moment?

No, not really at-least in my opinion,

  • It forces a install of peer-to-peer.exe (PeerToPeerCDN - Open source I believe) and the launcher executes it, which I assume is used to install files and to make cost a-bit less than needing a primary server, but this is concerning because it may or can be used for other malicious behavior
  • It also installs it's own root certification and associated CRL, this is very malicious since it can be used as a MitM attack which isn't a genuine "Minecraft hack client" thing to do.
  • It used msedgewebview2.exe (Microsoft Edge) a lot, while this can be sometimes a malicious indicator or not (ex; friend list, in-app store, embedding a web browser) but personally I didn't see any actual normal use of that function.
  • Searches the system for hardware information which can be understandable for HWID verification but it is a bit excessive since it checked the entire system for hardware and bios details, enumerated processes, and tried to map network shares to me personally this is an overstep for a hack client for Minecraft.
  • It checks if UAC is enabled silently, why would a client for Minecraft need for that? Don't know but in their case it's followed by the install of it's own root certificate (mentioned before).
  • So, at the end I decided to scan the base launcher on virus total (38/70 - expected for the read/write memory process of injections if it is using read/write for injecting into the MC client), triage (7/10), etc. The file comes back as a virus even in windows anti-virus while some clients may also show as false positives the fact wild client has a high rating and with it's weird behavior just honestly puts me off,
  • Issues with the overall experience: From my experience the majority of the staff have very poor English (not in a rude way), The media, announcements, etc. It is all in Russian, no English translation which sucks, English translation on the website quarter the way done, launcher doesn't automatically set the language to the windows language (for how much information it's collecting you think this would be a basic feature).

So, personally I would not trust this unless you are on some sort of burner computer and genuinely want amazing GUI visuals/modules at a cheap cost of 10-14 USD but that comes at the risk of what are they doing on your own computer.

No shade to the developer if I'm wrong about the nature of these functions in their program then please state so what they are doing while being in the base launcher, also I would highly appreciate people put a reply on their own experience/opinion with wildclient
