UConn Sororities
Alpha Phi (Aphi) - Your typical, outgoing beautiful sorority girl. They have some of the most gorgeous models, and only have a handful of mid girls. A good mix of majors, I’ve met so many Aphi’s in STEM and Healthcare, I’ve gotten a lot of nursing, business, healthcare management, some engineering, and pre-med/ pre-pa. A good balance of academic and partygoers. Definitely NEED to step up their marketing and merch especially before recruitment. Good Frat connections with the Top frats (Phidelt, Beta, ADP, AKL, Sig Chi). I think cause of their reputation of having beautiful girls, makes people think they are rude but they really aren’t, I’ve met so many genuine girls in Aphi that I haven’t in other sororities. (Shout out to the Aphi girl who consoled me while i was crying outside of a frat.) They have great connections with other sororities which to me is a strong sign of genuine people. But from what I hear they have a solid sisterhood, but it’s like one large clique, but they all are pretty close with each other.
Kappa Alpha Theta (Theta) - Pretty girls, lots of people think “girl next door”, but most are very standoff-ish, and many are rude, especially the upperclassmen. They mix with basically one frat and don’t talk to or have relationships with many other sororities. They have a lot of business, poli-sci, and marketing majors, not as much stem and healthcare. The type of girl who would ignore you in class, roll their eyes when you open your mouth to speak, and record you at ur worst at a party. It’s a coin toss with them, you either get a basic, boring rude girl, or a nice, chill, smart brunette in theta. No in between.
Gamma Phi Beta (GPhi) - Put together, they have some genuine models and beautiful girls, but a majority are mid girls who think they’re attractive. Whoever does the merch is killing it, and honestly I think they have the best merch out of all the sororities (as of now). They have a broad range of personalities, which is good but also causes a clash between girls and forms a lot of cliques. They are very smart, some are very sweet and sincere, but a lot are crazy. When they party they party hard, like genuinely insane. A good amount of the frats don’t like them as much because of it, but because they are a top 3 house they get invited. They have a good mix of majors, I’ve met Pharmacy, Engineering, Pre-med, Nursing, and Business. They have an alright sisterhood, like I said there’s a lot of cliques.
Alpha Epsilon Phi (Aephi) - Super sweet girls, except for a few are kinda odd and rude, genuine group of girls. Also chill and not into Greek life as much as the other sororities. They mix with a good amount of frats, not the top ones but a lot of the mid frats like Sig Ep, SAE, DTD. Good mix of Majors, lots of Polisci and Buisness.
Pi Beta Phi (PiPhi) - Very reserved, but they seem very close to each other, some can be nice but many others not so much. Very academically focused, not really outside. Only get invited to the Mid-Bottom frats. So if parties aren’t that important to your college life then they are a great option because they have a good sisterhood if that’s what you’re looking for.
Alpha Omicron Pi (Aoii) - not as great sisterhood, always hear about some beef between girls or issues. They have issues maintaining Frat connections and receiving social calendars. Really sweet girls, and the girls who are committed to it tho love this group and they always commit to the bit! See them out a lot too. If you want a group of genuine girls, who don’t really care too much about frats and ranks, I would say AOii is great for them
Alpha Chi Omega (Axo) - Lots of academic girls, big on philanthropy, some are cute and nice but a lot are extremely rude and fake. As for the objective stuff, they have a good mix of majors, good amount of nursing, some engineering, but mainly business. I’ve met a handful of genuine and nice girls in this sorority. I would say the only redeeming class they have left is their senior class, but the rest are terrible. These girls will TRY to steal the guy ur talking to (not cause they can), but because they are genuinely petty and terrible girls with no sense of sisterhood or respect. I’ve heard numerous stories from them, other sororities, AND girls not in Greek life who’ve been done wrong by an AXO. Super judgmental and overall not good people.
Delta Zeta (DZ)- another “chill girl” sorority. Somewhat social you seem them everywhere. A group of girls who don’t really care about Greek life
Delta Delta Delta (Tridelt) - the new sorority so still can’t really rank. They seem nice and very excited to be starting a new chapter. Got some interesting girls but that was just because of last year!
