Gallstones and symptoms?
I don't usually post on here but my wife is freaking out and I wanted to put her mind at ease.
She's had stones for many years. Had a few attacks 10+ years ago. None since. She eats what she wants usually.
The beginning of last month we had pizza and it bloated her stomach really bad. Ever since, the balled up feeling under her right rib has felt a little worse (after eating or after not eating for a long period of time). She had diarrhea, it was actually yellow for about a week. Her anxiety went crazy... she thinks it's bc there was a lot of gas in there causing her to not be able to take very deep breaths.
Now it's almost like she's back to normal. Kind of constipated. She gets full after eating a small amount, still has that balled up feeling her right ribs sometimes on the left too but takes gas x and that helps that side. She has scheduled surgery but has a panic disorder and is thinking of cancelling.
She's scared it's not her gb. They never did a hida scan, just saw stones a long time ago and told her she could get it out if she ever wanted. She's mainly bloated and gets uncomfortable after eating (about an hour or 2 later for maybe 30 minutes? And sometimes after not eating for a while, like in the mornings.)
She is scared of everything surgery and post op she's afraid she'll be bedridden and get depressed and take forever to feel "herself" again. But mainly that she will still have the same symptoms. Lots of fears around hospitals, surgery, medicines, etc. Every one that you can think of, really.
Everyone we've talked to says it's easy, I'll have off some days to help her. It's a good time to do it if she's going to. I don't want to push her into it if it's not gb. In the ER a few weeks ago (anxiety, I believe, gas and breathing?) they did another ultrasound and said no infection, no wall thickening, and nothing stuck so we're just confused, I guess.
Does anyone else here have any of the same symptoms? Did you have surgery? Any details or helpful experiences are appreciated!
